A Bold Harmony of Color and Personality

"Like a dance of vibrant strokes, where every color twirls and leaps in perfect rhythm to the music of life."

Tango, a vibrant 3BHK apartment in the heart of Madras’ IT hub, is a living canvas where bold hues, quirky textures, and playful patterns come together. Located on the 9th floor, the space offers a captivating view of the expressway, with the distant sea adding a touch of serenity to the otherwise dynamic setting. Spanning 1725 square feet, the apartment reflects its inhabitants: colorful, fun, and unapologetically unique.

The design brief was simple—to create a colorful, fun, and quirky space that mirrored the client’s vivacious spirit. This collaboration between the designer and the family led to a playful yet sophisticated space that stands in stark contrast to the commercial energy of the surrounding IT belt. Instead of conforming to the typical urban landscape, Tango becomes a sanctuary where individuality and joy take center stage.

The journey begins with a bold, yellow door that sets the tone for the vibrant energy inside. The foyer, with its patterned tiles and organic mirrors, introduces the lively spirit of the home. The lounge area, with its statement chairs and amoebic rug, bursts with colors and textures. Bold accents, a striking red carpet, and quirky lighting fixtures bring this space to life, while the adjoining dining area continues the theme of vibrancy. Featuring a mint, yellow, orange, and grey palette, the dining space is designed to bring the family together. The yellow ball-supported dining table serves as an art piece, and the geometric console, along with bold wall art, infuses the space with fun.

The materials—light oak wood, glass, and metal—blend seamlessly with the playful color scheme, ensuring a harmonious flow throughout the apartment. One standout feature is the sliding wood and glass partitions that open up the living room while still allowing for privacy when needed. This design choice enhances the space's functionality and adds an element of surprise, allowing the lounge and living areas to interact fluidly.

In the master bedroom, soft peach tones evoke a sense of tranquility, while tropical wallpaper adds a hint of summer. A geometric, unconventional Pooja room cabinet—a fusion of yellow perforated metal, wood louvers, and white shutters—strikes a unique balance between the living room and the bedroom.

Each of the children’s rooms reflects their individual personalities through custom color schemes. One room features pastel green, yellow, and white, while the other embraces blues, whites, and greys—blending vibrant and neutral tones to create cozy, personal sanctuaries. Even the bathrooms echo the colors and themes of the rooms, with playful touches like yellow subway tiles and pop-art wall decor.

Tango is a vivid celebration of the client's personality, where each design element—from the bold statement pieces to the subtle interplay of soft furnishings—works in perfect harmony. Every corner of this home pulses with energy and joy, a reflection of the vibrant spirit of its inhabitants. The carefully curated blend of color, texture, and quirkiness transforms the apartment into more than just a living space; it’s a dynamic canvas where creativity and individuality are celebrated in every stroke. Tango is not just a home—it’s an invitation to embrace life in all its colorful, playful glory.
